The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually risen the rate of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints in the world, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
